Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo. On iOS you can also sign in with Apple; Apple may provide your name and email address, or an Apple private relay email address if you choose to hide your email. We use these details to create and identify your account.
• Data you enter — the water and food (meal & calorie) entries you log, and your daily goals.
• Health & activity data — with your permission, WellDay reads steps, sleep, active calories, distance and resting heart rate from Android Health Connect or Apple Health on iOS. The current app displays these readings on your device without uploading newly read health data. Earlier Android versions saved daily totals in your private Firebase account; see section 3.
• Workouts you log — the activities you add manually (type, duration, distance and calories).
• Profile details — an optional display name, and the height and weight you choose to enter. These are only used to show your own profile back to you.
• Push notification token — where available, we store your device's Firebase Cloud Messaging token to deliver push messages. Daily reminders are scheduled on your device.
• Advertising identifiers — WellDay shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects your device's advertising ID and related technical data. See section 7 below.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the core features of the App — showing your progress, goals, history and charts.
• To sign you in and keep your data in sync across sessions.
• To store your logs securely in your own private account so they are available when you return.

We never use your health, activity or logged data for advertising or ad targeting, and we do not sell your data to anyone. Ads shown in the App are served by Google AdMob and are not based on anything you log in WellDay.

3. Health Connect and Apple Health

With your permission, WellDay reads steps, sleep, active calories burned, walking/running distance and resting heart rate from Health Connect on Android or Apple Health on iOS. This access is read-only; WellDay does not write to either health service.

The current app uses these readings for daily activity and trend charts on your device. It does not upload newly imported health records or totals to Firebase or AdMob. Earlier Android versions saved per-day step, sleep, active calorie and distance totals in each user's private Firebase account to preserve history. Those previously saved totals remain there until you delete your account, and older installed Android versions may continue to save daily totals until updated.

We do not use health readings for advertising or ad targeting, and we do not sell them. You can review or revoke access in Health Connect on Android or in the Health app on iOS (profile → Apps → WellDay).

4. How your data is stored

Your account and log data — your profile, goals, water, food and manually entered workout entries, any historical daily activity totals described in section 3, and notification token — is stored using Google Firebase (Realtime Database and Authentication). Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and access is restricted so that only you can read or write your own data.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We rely on providers that process data to run the App: Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database and Cloud Messaging), Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple on iOS, and Google AdMob for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — directly in the app (tap your profile photo on the Home screen, then Delete account at the bottom of the Profile screen) or by email request. See our Account Deletion Page for full details. Signing out does not delete your data.

7. Advertising

WellDay is free and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob to display banner and occasional full-screen ads. To serve and measure those ads, Google may collect and process your device's advertising ID, IP address, and general device and usage information. This is handled by Google, not by us — we never send Google your health data, your logs, or your goals.

Where required, the App requests your advertising consent before ads are loaded and offers an advertising privacy choices control in Profile. You can also manage advertising preferences in Android settings or iOS privacy settings. For details on how Google uses this data, see Google's partner privacy notice.

8. Notifications

Daily hydration and activity reminders are scheduled locally on your device. WellDay may store a Firebase Cloud Messaging token for push notifications where supported. You can turn notifications off in your device settings. Deleting your account removes the token stored in your account.

9. Children's privacy

WellDay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport and access-controlled storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
